We all know that it’s far better to keep ourselves healthy than to get sick and have to go to the doctor or be medicated. The trick to staying healthy is to nourish and protect our bodies with a healthy diet, exercise and lots of water. (It sounds so simple, but it isn’t always that easy to put into practice!)

Well, the same can be said of your garden, although they do need to be treated slightly differently! A healthy garden needs good soil, correct watering and regular nourishment. If anyone aspect of this isn’t in place, the health of the plants suffers, making them more susceptible to pests and diseases. Once you start ‘medicating’ with pesticides or chemicals, the balance of your garden can fall further out of whack, creating a vicious circle where the health of your garden is difficult to re-establish.

To help you to maintain the balance and health of your garden, EcoBuz has created three easy-to-use steps that nurture and protect your garden without harming the environment.

Planting

The best time to start your journey to garden health is when you plant or transplant plants and seedlings in the garden or pots. To do this you need to ensure that you have healthy soil, stimulate strong root growth and are supplying complete, accessible nutrition, giving your plants the best possible start.

For this, our Root Health Program offers a full-circle protective and nourishment plan. It is made up of three products that can be mixed together for an easy-to-apply solution: HumiGro, StartGro and Root Pro.

These three products can all be mixed into 1 watering can, from which you apply 1 cup/250ml per plant or bush before watering.

HumiGro: Can be mixed in with compost/organic fertiliser or used as a drench. Mix 5g per 5L.
StartGro: Mix 5ml per 5L (for extra boost apply 10ml per 5L).
Root Pro: Mix 5g per 5L water (mix into a paste first).

Prevention of Fungal Diseases

In the summer months, fungal diseases can cause havoc in your garden and veggie patch. Preventative application and early detection are the keys to disease management.

Spray Disease Pro preventatively: 4g per 1L. It requires a minimum of three sprays. Before the wet season or times prone to powdery mildew, spray Disease Pro. Spray plants until runoff, and remember to spray underneath the leaf.

If the disease is already present, spray as above weekly until the disease is under control. Disease Pro is compatible with MultiGro and can be mixed together for 1 spray.

Maintenance

Now that your plants have settled and have an excellent protective foundation, it is time to start regular treatment with MultiGro to keep plants strong and healthy.

MultiGro: Apply 2 weekly/monthly as a drench or foliar feed. Mix 5ml per 5L water as a drench, or 5ml per 1L spray bottle as a foliar feed. Spray until runoff.

Early Detection & Treatment

Healthy plants are more resistant to damage from bugs, but they are not immune. This is why checking your plants regularly for insects and caterpillars is vital: as soon as you notice the critters starting to make themselves comfortable and ready to make a meal of your veggies and flower beds, you need to begin treatment. EcoBuz has safe, Biological Solutions which will not harm your beneficial insects allowing you to work together to control the bad guys.

Pest Pro: For insects – spray when the insect is detected. The spray needs to make contact with insect pest. It is best to spray early morning or late afternoon.

Mix 2g per 1L and apply weekly until the problem is under control (usually three applications).

Larvae Pro: For caterpillars, spray when the insect is detected. The spray needs to make contact with insect pest. It is best to spray early morning or late afternoon.

Mix 4g per 1L, and apply weekly until the problem is under control (usually three applications).
